§   Need for Early Detection

Each year cervical cancer is diagnosed in approximately 470,000 women with 230,000 deaths worldwide.

In 2002, in the United States, 15,000 new cases were diagnosed and 4,800 lives were lost.

Early detection is critical to save lives and provide better treatment options.

The Cervical Specific Antigen (CSATM) test has proven effective in patient studies as a blood test with a potential to screen large populations as well as an aid in monitoring treatment efficacy and metastasis.
